Blanding Bound and Back!

On August 29, 2009, My Mom and I drove Chante down to Blanding, Utah for an Adventure of a life time. Chante has always wanted to work with horses and have a horse breeding farm. While surfing the web she found this opportunity in Blanding to work at the Anderson Foxtrotter Ranch. So, what was to be a 5-6 hour trip to take her down turned into a 8-9 hour venture for us, but we had good company and conversation.

Chante sitting on her bed on her side of the room, which is upstairs, her roommate's bed is kitty corner from her.

Here is the living room, with ladder stairs that lead up to where Chante sleeps, (yes, that just insulation in the walls), the kitchen is just to the right of the living room, the bathroom is just on the other side of the stairs. Just to give you a little prospective of the size of the place, I am standing right in the doorway.

And here is the kitchen, there was no sink so they had to do the dishes in plastic tubs
(no luxuries of home with a dishwasher)

These are some of the horses that Chante had to feed every morning.
They are just outside of her house

And here it is, Chante's Home away from Home, yes, that is a slide on the right hand side for the girls to go down in case of an emergency and they were upstairs. This is located 4 miles south of Blanding. Chante was able to work with Foxtrotter horses. The website is andersonfoxtrotters.com, if you want to see some of the horses Chante worked with. Chante learned that running a ranch is a lot of work and that she is more of a "City Girl" than she thought. She came home last weekend to get into a little better shape and be able to jump onto a horse bareback. She is enjoying the luxuries of being a "City Girl"
